The Kennedy Middle School is committed to having a wide variety of After School Enrichment for all students. Check here for updates on them!

If you are signing up for a sport, you must get a Family ID account. 

 

 

Go to: Arbiter - Waltham High School & Middle School

Then follow these 2 easy steps:

  1. Sign up for your secure FamilyID account by entering your family name, email address and password. You will receive an email with a link to confirm your new account; click on that link.
  2. Log in and choose the sport.  Fill out the information requested on the registration form. **Athletes will need to have a recent physical done in order to complete all paperwork and run on the team.

Students should listen to the announcements each day for club updates and cancellations.

  • Tryouts for the Kennedy Girls and Boys Basketball team are quickly approaching!

     All players interested in trying out MUST be signed up on FamilyID AND have an up to date physical with the nurse.

    Interested students should reach out to Mr. Poirier (boys) or Ms. Kimker (girls) with any questions.

  • An after-school program for students in grades 6-8 that meets every Thursday at Brandeis University. A bus will pick up students and transport them to the Brandeis campus to help/tutor students. This is a fun time for the students to work together with team building activities, have a snack, and also work for an hour with an individual mentor. A great program for students who might be shy or lack confidence in learning or socializing. A permission slip is required and it is expected that students will bring homework.

  • The Drama Program at Kennedy offers performance opportunities after school in the Fall Play and the Spring Musical for all students grades 6-8.

    Opportunities to work behind the scenes in Stage Crew come up a few weeks before each performance, and those are also announced on the website and morning announcements.

  • Kennedy's Girls On The Run team is back for its 4th season! 

    The Girls on the Run program is designed to enhance participants' social, emotional and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. The program combines warm ups, exercises, running, and walking with team building, community service, and communication to help our students develop strong bodies, strong hearts, and strong minds. 

    The season will start the week of September 20th and run through mid-November, with the end of season celebratory state-wide 5k on November 15th. 

    Practices will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm, right here at Kennedy.

    All coaches are teachers and staff at Kennedy, and our team is open to students in across all 3 grades.

  • Middle School Honors String Ensemble is for students in Grades 6-8. It meets every Tuesday from 3:00 - 4:30 (September -May) and requires that students find their own transportation home. Experience in playing violin, viola, cello, and bass at audition required level as well as a string instrument and music.

  • In the spring, we will be offering Kennedy Runs, open to all Kennedy students (students who identify as boy, girl, nonbinary or gender nonconforming). Like Girls on the Run, Kennedy Runs will meet twice a week after school and will include a warm-up, team-building and a running-focused workout. We will prepare as a group for the Moody St. 5k which is typically held in early May. More information will come in in the winter - keep an eye out!

    Latino Club recognizes, celebrates, and upholds the individuals, groups, and cultures of Latin America. Our activities include making arts and crafts, celebrating holidays, playing traditional games, sharing typical foods and drinks, and discussing topics of interest (anyone say café con leche?). Anyone who supports latinidad is welcome!

    Kennedy Boys Soccer Tryouts: Tuesday, Sept 8th, Wednesday, Sept 9th and Thursday, Sept 10th. Players must be present on all 3 days to be eligible for qualification as there are limited spots available. Tryouts are from 2:30-3:30pm on the back field. Students can take the late bus at 3:30pm.

  • As an extension of our school day, students in grades 6-8 will be engaged in hands-on STEM/STEAM activities and problem-solving using the eight Science and Engineering Practices. Students can use 3D printers, fly drones, participate in design challenges, build and create using K'NEX and architectural design kits, and many other cool STEM activities!

    Spring Sport with practices 2-3 times per week and a few competitions against other schools. All are welcome to play.
